Revista Española de Lingüística (RSEL) is a scholarly-led, Diamond Open access journal that welcomes contributions from linguists worldwide and publishes research on all languages and all areas of linguistics and related disciplines, with no preference given to any theoretical framework or methodology. Founded in 1971, RSEL is the flagship journal of the Sociedad Española de Lingüística (SEL).
RSEL publishes original research articles and book reviews. The journal also welcomes thematic special issues/sections edited by guest editors.
1. Double-anonymous peer review
The Editorial Team handles incoming articles and assesses the suitability of the paper with regard to the focus and scope of the journal. If suitable, the paper is sent to double-blind peer review to two peer-reviewers. The Editorial Team welcomes proposals for Special Collections, which are carefully examined for thematic cohesion and originality.
2. Diamond/Platinum Open Access
RSEL is a Diamond/Platinum Open Access journal, that is, with no publication fees for authors or subscription fees for readers. Publication in RSEL is thus free for authors and readers.
3. Publication frequency
RSEL publishes two issues per year.
4. Copyright and licensing
Authors retain copyright. Authors grant SEL the non-exclusive right to publish and distribute the work. Articles are published under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
5. Digital preservation
RSEL ensures long-term access to its contents through regular backups, format migration as needed, preservation metadata, and DOI assignment (where applicable). The journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN/PKP-PLN), a LOCKSS-based distributed preservation service for OJS journals that supports permanent archiving and restoration if needed.
Ownership and management
RSEL is published by the Sociedad Española de Lingüística (SEL).
